This tiny house is brand new, designed and built in 2015. This charming yet modern vacation home sits back on a large urban lot in a quiet neighborhood in NE Portland. Just a 5 min drive or 10 minute bike ride from many urban gems: the famous Alberta Arts District, locally owned shops, a large natural grocery store and a food-co-op, a non-profit yoga studio, bike shops, bars, bakeries, and many coffee shops and restaurants in this food lover's mecca.
You'll feel like you're in a quiet country cottage, but you'll truly be in the heart of the city: only a 10 minute drive to downtown Portland, 2 miles from the nearest Max station, a few blocks from a bus stop and only 4 miles (about $15 cab ride) from Pdx Airport.
The house includes:
Full kitchen with brand new appliances, hot water kettle and French press.
Full bathroom with with on-demand hot water for shower and a composting toilet.
Two lofted (low ceiling) full-sized bedrooms with new queen-sized mattresses. Note: the bedrooms do not have doors. The main bedroom (North Loft) has plenty of space to store clothes and other personal items.
Washer/dryer of your own, biodegradable laundry soap provided.
Ample street parking right in front of the house.
Free Wi-Fi available to all guests.
Guests may also utilize our 1/4 acre yard and hammock (in the dry season).
This house is on a grey-water system, not connected to the septic system. The bathroom does have a hot shower, but all water drains to a greywater system. We provide complimentary biodegradable soaps for our guests. The toilet is a composting toilet that is cleaned after each guest's stay. Please help us keep the land chemical free.
Guest access
The tiny house is all yours. Outside space is shared with the main house. When the weather is nice feel free to have a picnic in the yard or relax in the hammock.
On street parking right in front of the house (usually, but it's a quiet street with lots of parking in the rare event a neighbor's guest parks in front of my house).
Interaction with guests
The hosts live on the property though are out and about a lot. We check for texts often. We are available for any questions or needs that may arise. We will also respect our guests' privacy.
There is an informative binder in the tiny house with details about Portland and the surrounding areas. A lock box allows entrance upon arrival, or the hosts will text you to tell you where to find the key.
