COZY 1930 COTTAGE OVERLOOKING THE SEA IN SWEDEN
This cozy cottage just came on the market in Sweden. It is located in Åsa, a wonderful little community on Sweden’s southwest coast. Åsa offers you both beaches and retail shops within easy walking distance, as well as the convenience of being less than an hour from Gothenburg, Sweden’s second largest city.
The original cottage was built back in 1930, with the larger bedroom at the end probably a later addition. It has a single-level floor plan of roughly 47 m2 (506 ft2).

The dining room and living room are on the side with the higher roof, while the kitchen, bathroom and two bedrooms are lined up under the lower-sloped roof. The dining area is one of the home’s highlights, a sunspace-like extension facing the sea. The living room’s distinctive fireplace is another nice feature.

Looking at the floor plan, you’ll see that all the rooms are closed off from one another. The kitchen especially is somewhat cramped — notice how the sink appears to have been installed sideways to save space. So we would open up the kitchen to the dining room, which seems to have some extra space. We would probably also widen the opening between the living room and the dining room. And, it would be nice to have a door leading directly from the kitchen/dining space to the large south-facing deck.
